'When you understand the inherent power within you and become aware of the innate capacity of your body to birth your baby, you become empowered in ways you didn’t think possible.'

A qualified KG Hypnobirthing Teacher,

practicing a course

accredited by The Royal College of Midwives.

I really enjoy being apart of a couple’s birthing journey and witnessing the transformation they go through after completing the hypnobirthing and antenatal course. I feel so privileged to be able to bring quality childbirth education to women and their birth partners so that they may go forth and achieve a beautiful birth, no matter what unfolds.

Having personally used hypnobirthing for the birth of my own child, I was able to have the natural birth that I had planned and prepared for with no interventions and no pain relief! The midwives commented to my partner that they were amazed at how calm I was throughout my labour. I felt connected, positive, totally in control and incredibly powerful! It was such a wonderful experience that I will always remember. Hypnobirthing not only helped me to prepare for birth mentally and physically, but it gave me the awareness and confidence that should my birth plan had of veered in another direction, I would have been able to remain calm and in control.

Through my positive birth experience I learnt to trust in my body, trust in myself and feel confident about embarking on the new journey of motherhood.

Hypnobirthing, coupled with antenatal education, revolutionised the way I viewed pregnancy, birth and the postpartum period - opening me up to a new world of knowledge and self awareness. It provided me with a deep sense of empowerment that has never left me and I became such a big advocate of hypnobirthing.

Hypnobirthing is a logical and profound method of birth preparation. It is based on physiology and neuroscience. Unfortunately, there is a lot of misunderstanding surrounding the word 'hypnobirthing' but in actuality, there is nothing 'magical', 'mystical' or 'weird' about it. It is based on established medical knowledge, having been considered for use in medicine from as far back as the 1950's by the British Medical Association (BMA). A report published in the British Medical Journal in1955 concluded that "hypnosis is an effective method of relieving pain in childbirth without altering the normal course of Labour".*

We women have been given the perfect birthing system. Unfortunately, many of us have lost our beliefs. The belief in ourselves and our bodies' capabilities. I remind women of their own power so when it comes to the big day, they can really own their births. I believe that birth should be your most intimate and personal rite of passage and that woman centred care in childbirth, is key, and we should all be aware of our rights and options when it comes to giving birth so that we are able to make informed decisions along the way. This is why education is crucial and why I am so dedicated and passionate about helping women feel calm and in control about navigating their births, regardless of where or how they want to give birth!

There is no greater joy seeing a couple who complete a course having new found awareness and excitement for what is possible for them. Should you wish me to help you in creating an empowered and beautiful birth experience, please do get in touch. I am so excited to share all of this wonderful, enriching knowledge with you.
